Our Story

Libelle Organics began with a simple search for relief. In early 2024, I was constantly battling dry, cracked skin and persistent acne, despite having spent hundreds on products from beauty stores like Sephora. My husband, Andrew, and I were also on a deeply personal journey to grow our family, but after four challenging years of trying, we knew we needed to look more closely at what we were putting in and on our bodies. We were shocked to discover that many of the products we used daily contained harmful ingredients—some even carcinogenic, mutagenic, or reprotoxic.

Determined to replace these toxic ingredients, we turned to natural and organic alternatives. That’s when I discovered beef tallow. Hesitant at first, I tried it on my face and hands, expecting it to be another failed experiment. Instead, within just a day or two, my skin transformed: acne faded, and the dryness disappeared. The results amazed me, and when I shared the tallow with friends and family, the positive feedback was overwhelming. From there, our tallow journey truly began.

Why We Started Libelle

Andrew and I both grew up in faith-centered homes, where trusting in God’s timing was paramount. In May 2024, after a long year of Andrew’s unemployment and my doing any work I could find to make ends meet, we felt a calling to start a business. We were nervous and unsure, yet through prayer, we felt a persistent sense that this business was part of our purpose. After months of contemplation, we committed to starting our organic skincare business—and Libelle Organics was born.

The Meaning Behind “Libelle”

The name “Libelle” holds a special place in our hearts. While visiting family out of state, we had some strangely unforgettable encounters with dragonflies—one flew directly into my face on a boat, and another time, a swarm followed me through a park. Later, we visited a beachfront condo only to find its balcony covered in dragonflies. These encounters left a lasting impression on us.

When it came time to name the business, I thought of the dragonfly, or “libelula” in Romanian. While we loved the idea, we wanted something shorter. So, inspired by our other European influences, we chose “Libelle,” which reflects both our cultural roots and the symbolic meaning of the dragonfly.

Why the Dragonfly?

The dragonfly is more than just a beautiful creature; it symbolizes growth, clarity, and transformation. Dragonflies start their lives underwater, where they evolve over time before emerging into the air—a symbol of emotional and spiritual growth. Their iridescent wings reflect light in dazzling colors, reminding us of the importance of perspective, adaptability, and living in the moment.
